Privacy Policy

Last updated October 14, 2026

This policy explains how Surge Tech, Inc. ("Surge", "we", "us") collects and uses personal information in Surge Signals (the "service"). Surge Signals sends you a weekly email of public signals about the accounts you manage, and gives you a web app to manage those accounts.

The policy for our main website is at usesurge.ai/privacy.

Information we collect

When you sign up and use the service, we collect:

  • Your work email, your name if you give it, and your company
  • Your time zone and the day and hour you want your weekly email
  • The accounts you add, and the contacts at those accounts that you add, such as their names and roles
  • What you do with signals: ratings, saves, dismissals, the reasons you give, and the links you click in the app and in our emails
  • Messages you write in account chat, and your answers to our questions and requests
  • A record of the emails we send you

When you use the service, our hosting provider processes technical data that every web request contains, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. We use this data only to deliver the service and to protect it from abuse.

Public information about companies

To find signals, we collect public information about the companies you add. Our sources are company websites, news services and web search. We do not collect data from behind a login. A news article or company page can name people, for example a new executive. We show that information as it appears in the public source.

Cookies and analytics

We set one cookie to keep you signed in and to remember your email on this browser. It lasts up to 30 days. We record how people use the service, such as visits, ratings and clicks, in our own database to improve the service.

We use PostHog, a product analytics service, to understand how the service is used and to find problems. PostHog records:

  • The pages you visit and the buttons and links you click
  • Your browser, device, and the site or campaign that brought you here
  • Recordings of how you move through pages, and heatmaps of where people click. These hide all text and everything you type, so they show the layout and not your content.
  • Errors in your browser and on our servers

When you are signed in, PostHog links this to an ID for your account, not to your name or email. We do not send PostHog your chat messages, the notes you write, or the details of your accounts and contacts. PostHog does not run on sign-in link pages or on the pages that email buttons open. PostHog stores its own cookies and browser storage to recognise your visits, and we set a short cookie that lasts 30 minutes to link a visit to errors on our servers.

PostHog runs only if you accept analytics cookies. Until you choose, and if you decline, it does not load. Your choice is kept on this browser for six months, and you can change it here at any time.

We use no advertising tools, and we do not use this data for advertising. If you block analytics in your browser, the service still works.

We load our fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser sends a request to Google when you open a page.

How we use your information

  • To find and rank signals for your accounts and send you the weekly email
  • To answer your questions in account chat
  • To sign you in with a link we email to you
  • To improve which signals we show, based on your ratings and feedback
  • To contact you about the service, for example to ask for feedback
  • To keep the service secure and working

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.

Service providers

We use these providers to run the service. Each one processes data only for the service it gives us.

  • Railway hosts the service and its database.
  • Resend delivers the emails we send you.
  • OpenAI and Anthropic provide the AI models that write signal summaries and answer account chat. We send them company names, public articles, and the messages you write in chat. Under their API terms, they do not use this data to train their models.
  • News and search providers receive company names as search queries. We do not send them your personal information.
  • PostHog receives usage, recording and error data, as described in Cookies and analytics. It also receives our server logs, which hold event names, IDs and counts, not your content.
  • Our error-reporting provider receives technical details when the service fails.

These providers can process data in the United States and in other countries. We may also disclose information when the law requires it, or as part of a merger or sale of our business.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while you have an account. You can delete your data at any time in Settings. Your weekly emails stop right away, and we remove your data within 48 hours. We also ask PostHog to delete the usage data and recordings linked to your account. Public information about companies and their signals is not personal to you, so it stays in the service.

Your choices and rights

You can pause your weekly email or delete your data in Settings. Every email has a link to unsubscribe. You can also ask us for a copy of your personal information, or ask us to correct or delete it. Depending on where you live, for example in the European Union, the United Kingdom or California, you can have more rights under local law. To make a request, email contact@usesurge.ai. We will not treat you differently because you make a request.

Children

The service is for businesses. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the date at the top. If a change is important, we will also tell you by email.
